Halloween Comic Fest 2019, Saturday, October 26th!

Happy Halloween, Time Warpers!

Get your most ghoulish attire on and come on down to the store this Saturday, October 26th! All day we’ll have a selection of spooky, free comics for readers of all ages, plus you can purchase some exclusive Godzilla Vinimates made special for HCF! Come have fun with us and test out that costume before the big day.

Steven T. Seagle (Ben 10, Big Hero 6) Signing!

Surprise, Time Warp faithful! Here’s another great signing to look forward to.

On Wednesday, October 23rd, from 2 PM to 4 PM, we’ll be hosting STEVEN T. SEAGLE for a signing! He is best known as a member of Man of Action Studios as a co-creator of the hit animated series Ben 10, but he’s also written plenty of comic books, including the introduction of Big Hero 6, who Disney have adapted the team into film and TV. Between stints on Uncanny X-Men, Sandman Mystery Theater, as well as writing the Eisner-award winning It’s A Bird, and the Eisner-nominated Kafka, Steven T Seagle has created work for readers young and old, and of all tastes. His Wikipedia page is a helpful guide for seeing all the work he’s done over the years, and there’s lots of it!

We have one more special event planned to celebrate Time Warp’s 35th anniversary, and this one is VERY exciting!

On Saturday, October 12th (time TBD), Bob Burden will be visiting Time Warp for a signing, just in time for the fresh, new release of Flaming Carrot Comics Omnibus Vol 1 by Dark Horse! We’ll have copies available for purchase to be signed on-the-spot, but feel free to also bring your own copies of his classic work on Flaming Carrot, Mystery Men, Heavy Metal, Gumby, or even his prose work! 24 Hour Comic Book Day 2019! Saturday, October 5th! Sales & Info!

Another October is here, which means it’s time to celebrate one of comic culture’s most exciting holidays: 24 Hour Comic Book Day! The goal of this yearly event is to encourage artists to create an entire 24 page comic in 24 hours, and Time Warp will be open from 10 AM Saturday, October 5th to 10 AM Sunday, October 6th hosting an amazing list of local artists who are taking on the challenge!

In addition, we celebrate with our beloved flash sales that change every few hours, which is working in conjunction with our current anniversary sale–which means this will be one for the record books!

On top of $1 regular Marvel, DC, Independent, and Media back issues all 24 hours (with exceptions being books on the wall, in the case, and non-media issues in the silver/bronze age island), we’re offering these time-sensitive sales as well:

10 AM – 1 PM: 35% off all softcover books and graphic novels!
1 PM – 4 PM: 35% off all busts, statues, action figures, and Pop! vinyl figures!
4 PM – 7 PM: 35% off all hardcover books and graphic novels!
7 PM – 10 PM: 5 for $1 from our fifty cent comic bin!
10 PM – 1 AM: 20% off our silver/bronze age comic section!

Time Warp’s 35th Anniversary Sale!

That’s right everyone! On September 29th, Time Warp will be celebrating its 35th anniversary. Three and a half decades is a major accomplishment, and Time Warp wouldn’t be here without all our loyal customers who’ve supported us all this time. This month, we’re giving back to the community that has given us so much.

Starting September 8th, we’ll be offering 20% off store-wide (excluding books on the wall, in the glass case, and on the silver/bronze age island, or anything already at greater discount). Regular Marvel/DC/Independent back issues are also 50% off.

Here’s to 35 years of wonderful people and amazing comics, and to many more years in the future!

 

 

Time Warp at Denver Pop Culture Con 2019, booth #175!

Hey Time Warp faithful!

Once again you can find us at Colorado’s biggest convention: Denver Pop Culture Con (formerly Denver Comic Con)! We’ll be located at booth #175, straight ahead from the entryway of the show.

More details to follow as soon as we have them! As always, if you want us to bring something to the show so that you can pick it up from us there, feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email.

RIP Kris Sorant, 1973-2019

Today is a sad day. With great sadness and regret, I am informing the Time Warp family that long time employee, customer and friend Kris Sorant passed way unexpectedly this past Sunday, February 17th.
Kris was known here as “Back Issue Kris”, a name given him by “Matt”, a long time customer.
Kris worked so hard on our back issues, and was a fixture here for decades. He always strived to put the very best copies in our massive back issue bins.
While always in bad health it seemed, and despite all that he worked very hard and often spent long hours working after the store closed when everyone else went home for the night.
Whenever the rest of us were working Denver Comic Con, he ran the whole store all by himself for three days, a feat that always blew my mind.
He was also a very intelligent fellow, and could expound on any and all subjects. World class knowledge.
His favorite comic book characters were Spider-Man and the X-Men and he had a very comprehensive collection of those. His favorite musician was Buckethead!
If you’ve been shopping here at all in the last couple of decades, you’ve run in to him, I’m sure. If any of you have pictures to share, I would appreciate it. My phone wiped anything older than last year, and I can’t find one.
He will be greatly missed by all of us here at the store, and many former employees who worked with him.
He was only 46 years old. I don’t have any details yet. As I find out more details, I will post them here, or on our website Time-warp.com.
Memorial service details are forthcoming.
Whenever an employee, customer and friend passes away, it leaves a whole in my heart that never heals. Kris was all of these, and the world is a sadder place without him in it .
RIP, brother. We loved you!

Local Comic Shop Day!

Attention, Time Warpers!
We have some super limited items for Local Shop Day that we are going to raffle off. When you spend $25 in Time Warp on Saturday you will receive a raffle ticket for your choosing of Green Lantern #1 (limited to 500), Black Bird #1 (limited to 500), and lastly Marvel Knights 20th #1 (limited to 500). We will call the winners the following Sunday. Everything else will be first come first serve so make sure to show up early! We will also be having a sale on select graphic novels; $1 for softcovers and $5 for hardcovers!

Announcing sales for this year’s 24 Hour Comics Day, this Saturday, October 6th!

This Saturday, our annual anniversary sale comes to a close with its greatest event: 24 Hour Comic Day! From 10 AM Saturday to 10 AM Sunday, we will have a pack of local artists in the back of the store, each of them attempting to create an entire issue of comics from start to finish–and the store will remain open for business!

Not only can you watch these artists create in real-time (and ask them about their work), but you can also enjoy our beloved flash sales! Here’s this year’s sale schedule:

Time Warp’s 34th Anniversary!

To celebrate Time Warp’s 34th anniversary we are going to have a month’s worth of sales! Every day is different, all leading up to October 6th, 24 Hour Comic Book Day! Artists will attempt the impossible and create an entire comic book in 24 hours here at Time Warp. The store will be open all 24 hours with special sales to be announced at a later date.
