BLACKHAWK #46. Published by Quality Comic Magazines, November 1951. This rare comic is in strict, Overstreet-defined Very Good+ (VG+) condition with supple creamy pages to light tan pages and a cover lot of gloss. This is a beautiful book! Their career has spanned more than fifty years, making them some of the longest lived characters in the comic book universe. One of the first teams in comics, they laid the ground work for later, better known teams, like the X-Men. The Blackhawks began their career in World War II fighting the Axis powers. After the war they found new foes, first in the Communist threat and later in countless super-powered criminals. In 1956, a casualty of anti-comics hysteria and competition from other media such as movies and television, Quality is forced out of business. National Periodicals (DC) bought the majority of Quality properties such as BlackHawk and continued their tales!
